Trinity High School

Year 10 GCSE Mock Exams

04 May 2016

Dear parents/carers

We are writing to advise that all Year 10 students will soon be undertaking their GCSE Mock exams.   Mock exams are hugely important because they create the perfect opportunity for your child to demonstrate what they can do in realistic examination conditions. In core subjects, the results may determine group sets for year 11 and the level of entry for their actual GCSE.

In addition to this, it will provide you, as a parent, with the information you need to support your child in making the right choices in terms of future study, be it Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship.

In an ever-changing educational landscape, we understand the pressures that our students are placed under. In order to reduce this stress, we would like to invite you to our GCSE Exam & Study Skills Evening on Thursday 12th May at 6pm.

We would love to see as many parents/carers as possible during the evening, as this will be an opportunity for you to find out more about your child’s studies, the exams that they will undertake and how best to support your child through what can be regarded as one of the most stressful times of their life’s.

We pride ourselves on our openness with parents and carers, and hope that together we can minimise any distress or concerns that you and your child may have.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Sally Stephenson

Head of Year 10
