Trinity High School

Remembrance Day – A World War One teacher

09 November 2016

Herbert William Webster is listed as being a teacher at what was then the Redditch Secondary School (now Trinity High School) and is remembered on our memorial board.

We are lucky in that we have the old records of staff and in the ledger it is noted that Mr Webster taught Chemistry and Physics, some Mathematics and some Geography.  He is also described as teaching evening classes in Chemistry at the local technical school. He trained at Leeds University Day training college in 1905 - 1908.  He was called up in September 1917.  He died on the 20th February 1919 aged 32.
