TES Awards 2015

26 June 2015

I had the great pleasure of accompanying a number of staff and the chair of governors to London last Friday. We were attending the TES Awards 2015 at The Grosvenor Park Hotel, Park Lane. This is the teaching equivalent of the BAFTAs! We had been shortlisted for the Science and Technology award. This is in recognition for the excellent project we run for Year 9 students each year in partnership with the engineering company Alcoa.

The whole evening was fantastic. After a delicious 3 course dinner, the awards were presented by Greg Davies, from The Inbetweeners and Last Man Standing. As a former teacher himself he had some very amusing stories from his time as a drama teacher. Unfortunately we did not win the prize on the night, but it was a privilege to have been on the shortlist. We were the only school from Worcestershire to be nominated in any of the categories, so this is a great achievement in itself. I know the staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience, despite not arriving back to school until 1am on Saturday morning.

Yours sincerely

Mr A Ward
