Trinity High School

October Half Term 2015

03 November 2015

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you managed to have a restful half term break. The weather has taken a distinctly cold turn over recent days so I would like to remind students that if they wish to wear a jumper under their blazer, it MUST be a school jumper (which has the embroidered school badge).

It was a pleasure to be involved in Trinity’s Race Against Cancer on Friday 23rd October. The number of staff and students participating was brilliant, and we have raised a significant sum for the Wendy Gough Cancer Awareness Foundation.

Fortunately the weather was on our side this year and everyone managed to complete the race without getting wet. More details on totals raised and winners will be included in a later newsletter. If you still have not made a donation and would like

to do so, please go to www.justgiving.com/Trinity-High-School1

It seems appropriate after such a successful event to inform you all of my current situation. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in August and had an operation to remove the tumour at the end of the summer holiday. I have now been told that I require a short course of chemotherapy to ensure there is no recurrence. This does mean I will be absent from school for much of this half term, although I will be coming in to school when I can and working from home at other times. In my absence Mrs Cottle and Mr Thomas will deputise for me and keep me up to date with any issues that arise.

Yours sincerely

Adrian Ward
