ART AND DESIGN

Art and design provides students with the opportunity to express their creativity and experience a range of media. Students will study a variety of relevant artists in order to inform and enrich their own Artwork. They will develop their skills across a selection of techniques and materials. During this time students will be cultivating their own unique and individual Artwork.

KEY STAGE 3

All Students will follow a programme of study that aims to promote creativity and personal expression. Students will be encouraged to focus on improving technical ability in order for them to successfully articulate their ideas.

KEY STAGE 4

Course content

Students will produce a body of work that demonstrates an enquiring and imaginative approach to the creative process. Students will explore links to relevant artists and will investigate the possibilities of a diverse selection of media in order to successful realise their intentions.

KEY STAGE 5

Students produce a portfolio of work exploring ideas and producing Artwork based on a self-identified theme

Component 2  40%

Students produce a portfolio of work exploring ideas and producing Artwork based on a given theme culminating in a 10 hr controlled session.

Yr. 13

A level

Component 1   60%

Students produce a portfolio of work exploring ideas and producing Artwork based on a self-identified theme

Component 2  40%

Students produce a portfolio of work exploring ideas and producing Artwork based on a given theme culminating in a 15 hr controlled session.
