Accommodation and Resources
The Faculty is sited at the north end of the site. Technology is housed in fantastic purpose-built accommodation. All classrooms have fitted interactive white boards and computer access.  Resources are well maintained and students are given the opportunity to work with a wide range of materials and tools. The Resistant Materials Department boasts traditional multi-media workshops, flame fast forge, wood lathes, metal lathes, welding equipment and material preparation rooms.  Food rooms are equipped with catering equipment.

Teaching and Learning
In Art, Design & Technology students combine practical and technological skills with creative thinking to design and make products and systems that meet human needs. They learn to use current technologies and consider the impact of future technological developments. They learn to think creatively, solving problems as individuals and members of a team. Through Art, Design & Technology students develop confidence in using practical skills and become discriminating users of products. They use a variety of materials such as food and resistant materials to apply their creative thinking and learn to innovate. The subject calls for students to become autonomous and creative problem-solvers, as individuals and as members of a team.  Art, Design & Technology contributes to the development of Business & Enterprise skills and encourages all students to be creative and innovative.  In year 9 all pupils are given the opportunity to cook and understand the importance of healthy eating. They participate in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project sponsored by a local engineering company. The Faculty believes firmly that learning should be both enjoyable and challenging, providing learning experiences in a wide range of different Arts and Technology disciplines.  Use of ICT within the Faculty is a high priority, pupils are encouraged to use computer-aided design and manufacturing in their studies to design and make quality products. We have recently purchased a 3D printer for all students to use.
